Louis Brandt originally founded Omega in 1848 in Switzerland and starting making watches, all made by hand exclusively. He passed away in the late 19th century and his two sons Louis Paul Brandt and Cesar Brandt took the company over; but both passed away in 1903 – a very short lived affair. Over the years the company changed hands a number of times and was eventually bought out by an investment group. Some of the Omega history was truly set during the Second World War by supplying watches to both pilots and servicemen.
