IWC Watches at Wholesale

IWC was, believe it or not, first founded around 1868 by Florentine Jones; an American master watchmaker from Boston Massachusetts; the company was located in a small town in Switzerland named Schaffhausen.  He was amazed by the possibilities of utilizing a newly constructed hydro-electric power facility in order to mass produce his watches - and we feel that these watches today represent watch making at its best.

His overall idea was to import manufacturing technology and marry that technology with hand crafting abilities of the Swiss watch makers of the time.  His idea was a good one except for the fact that America slapped huge import duties on finished watches –and that sent IWC down a tough path; which took years to recover from. But they bounced back and now you can purchase IWC watches at yaegerwatch.com at discount prices.

One of largest markets for IWC watches was Eastern Europe and much of that market share was lost due to the building of the Iron Curtain; including even West Germany, which was in ruins after World War II.  But things changed for the Company and sales increased in other parts of the world including America, Australia and Asian countries.   The company continued to innovate and develop many one of a kind inventions that have been embraced by other watch makers across the world; one of the most interesting at the time, was the introduction, in 1978, of the worlds first titanium watch case and bracelet.  Speaking of innovation, IWC is the manufacturer of the world’s most sophisticated bracelet systems; which does not require screw pins and bushings to hold it together – a truly amazing technological feat.  Speaking of amazing, here at Yaegerwatch.com we offer a great line of IWC watches in our online store; some of the best selling are the Spitfire and Aquatimer.
